Otim Dickens, Head of Education and capacity Building

Otim is the Head of Education and Capacity Building. He also doubles as the Northern Uganda Regional Coordinator for Solidarity Uganda, where he coordinates local activist groups across several tribes and issues. He has helped six communities successfully defend themselves from large-scale land grabs and has facilitated training on building grassroots power since 2015. He has served as regional coordinator for the New Uganda movement for political transition and he also spearheaded the establishment of the National Land Defence League (NLDL), a collective of land protection movements led by mostly rural women from across Uganda. He also served as a strategy advisor to 234 farmers who occupied the UN OHCHR office in Gulu for one month
Kyokusiima Phionah, Head of organising

Phionah Kyokusiima is the Head of organising at Solidarity Uganda. She also doubles as the Western Region cordinator. She is a social worker, an activist, and a community organizer. She is a firm believer in social justice, dignity, and equality. Phionah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counselling and a Post Graduate Diploma from Uganda Management Institute in Project Planning and Management
Merab Ingabire, Head of Media and communications

Merab Ingabire is a journalist trained at Makerere University Uganda. She is a communications practitioner who carries a wide range of skills, which include creative writing, public speaking, and photography. She is passionate about influencing positive change through community empowerment and training. She has worked with many solidarity communities across the country where she trains, listens, observes and documents stories of impact. She is passionate about vulnerable communities focusing on women and children living under repressive systems both socially and politically. She lives for a world where everybody is free and able to be anything they can imagine. A world where young people find the support and opportunities to live purposeful lives, become their best, and offer their best service to their families and communities. A world of responsible citizens that look for opportunities to mentor, support and raise the next generations. When she is not glued to a computer screen she spends time cleaning and tidying her home since she is obsessed with clean places.
Benedict Emuna, Finance Officer
Benedict is the Finance Officer for Solidarity Uganda where he offers the lean and mean bureaucratic skills necessary to keep the wheels of an ever-adapting organization like Solidarity Uganda turning. He is a holder of Diploma in Business Administration-Accounting from UCC Aduku and currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration-Accounting at Lira University. His commitment to excellence is matched by none of us.
